Questions & answers

What does Paul & Vaos make?

Paul & Vaos Amplification builds handbuilt tube amplifier heads and guitar and bass speaker cabinets. The catalog includes the Roswell 100 amplifier, Paul & Vaos cabinets, and the Party Smasher Inc cabinet collaboration.

What is the difference between an amp head and a speaker cabinet?

An amp head contains the amplifier electronics; a speaker cabinet houses the speakers. The Roswell 100 is an amp head. Models such as the 12-15, 312, Coffin, B610, and Party Smasher cabinets are speaker cabinets. A cabinet is not a complete amplifier on its own.

Which models are for guitar and which are for bass?

The Roswell 100 is the tube guitar amp head in the current catalog. Guitar cabinets include the 12-15, 312, Coffin, Party Smasher 312, and Coffin Smasher. The B610 and Party Smasher 610 Bass are bass cabinets. Ask the workshop about your amplifier and intended use when choosing a cabinet.

What can I customize?

Customization options include covering materials, grill cloth, piping, speakers, and accessories. Use the Design page to explore construction and finish options, and the Custom gallery to see previous builds. Ask about availability for your chosen model.

What do the listed prices mean?

Product pages show starting prices in US dollars. Your selected speakers, finishes, and other custom options can affect the quote. Confirm the configuration and final price with Paul & Vaos before ordering.

How do I ask about a model or request a custom build?

Use Ask About This Model on a product page, or choose a product in the Connect form. Include your amp model, preferred cabinet, sound goals, finish ideas, and any size or transport requirements. The workshop can discuss the build and provide a quote.

How do I confirm cabinet compatibility and build timing?

Send the workshop your amplifier model and the cabinet configuration you are considering. Confirm impedance, power handling, speakers, final dimensions, availability, and lead time for that specific build before ordering. Custom configurations can differ from the examples shown on the site.
